......among a few other things, but those are some of the big ones.

Does Dean think he can convince white southerners to ignore those issues any more than WE would ignore issues like racism and church-state and gay rights? Just because they're WRONG doesn't mean they will be talked into weakening their view.

Dean says forget about all the issues except the ECONOMY. So what's he gonna do if the ECONOMY improves??

2. I think I shall include MYSELF in considering my vote, thank you Dr. Dean!
To this point, I have been holding out for Dean. This kind of statement does not make me happy.

3. Dean might be right, but it seems to me
that he is endangering the black inner city vote, and won't get any Southern states anyway.

4. Dean's right in a way
We need a class-based movement of all working and poor people to counter the tyranny of wealthy corporations.

Class warfare is the primary reality of American society. The ruling class has their side organized. They use lifestyle issues to divide us, just as they used race and national ethnicity in the past (e.g., having european immigrants from antagonistic groups work next to each other in the mills, figuring they would never organize).

5. I'm a southerner (the last time I checked)
and I'm for affirmative action, gay and lesbian rights, separation of church and state, and assault gun ban (but I'm keeping my rifle amd shotgun). I'm a white southerner so I'd be a "they", right?

Talk about a plan for a better future and you'll win enough over. We're not a caracature or from another planet.
