Dean will get SEIU endorsement
This is huge:

Dean set to get major union endorsement

WASHINGTON (AP) — Howard Dean is getting a prized presidential endorsement from the AFL-CIO's largest union, top officials from the Service Employees International Union told at least three Democratic campaigns Wednesday night.

The endorsement, to be announced Thursday, is raising hopes in Dean circles that the former Vermont governor and Democratic front-runner also can win backing from another politically powerful union that so far has remained neutral, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.

Damn, I wish Clark entered earlier...

His campaign has been a miserable failure.

7. This is probably why the other candidates have been yelling about the flag
thing. Trying to take the polish off this MASSIVE development.

9. That union has a lot of minority members.
They weren't trying to take the polish off, they were trying to stop it from happening.

14. I agree Will, even though i'm an ass ;-)
Also, it's funny that Sharpton's outrage comes on the heals of Jesse Jackson Jr.'s endorsement.

Keep it on the board, jeter. I use that email for work, and don't need DU arguments spilling in there.

12. This may be...
the best news I've heard in a long time.

Also tops off a GREAT Meetup night; we had our first Meetup in a primarily Latino town, and we had a fantastic turnout, met some very eager activists.

13. I talked to some members of IUPAT who attended Dean's speech today
Edited on Thu Nov-06-03 01:39 AM by pruner
when it was over I saw group of about 25-30 men & women wearing the black & gold hats & t-shirts and went over to thank them for their support, and for showing up.

a few of them told me that they had never seen anything like Dean's grassroots army in all the campaigns they'd worked on. they said that often campaigns rely on the unions for the bulk of their "on the ground" campaigning and it was incredibly refereshing to see so many "regular people" willing to help out there and anywhere else they can.

16. Believe it or not....................
I've seen quite a bit of support for Dean in the Cuban community here in Florida. Could the Rethugs be losing their stranglehold on the Cubans? We can only hope.
