Who would be your choice to run the DNC
Unfortunately, my perception of MacAuliffe's leadership is the same as a car whose brakes are locked; it doesn't move unless you call for the tow truck.

It's time for us to call for the tow truck to revitalize the party.

Who is your choice to run the party and get the process of Democracy back on track?

I'll hold my opinion for a bit.

5. party needs a Washington outsider like Dean to run things
I think the DNC needs to move beyond the Clinton years and focus more on the new candidates and new leadership. Clinton is in the media too much still and distracts everybody. I think MacAuliffe might not be the best man for the job due to the increasing losses the Dem's are taking in elections.

We need a Karl Rove (evil genius) type. BTW, don't misinterpret this as saying the DNC should be conservative... I hate Rove with a passion, but considering the success of the RNC, his ilk are better than the Dems.

11. Carvell can't, his demeanor turns off too many people.
We may love him for his energy, but he needs to be behind the scenes again to revive the party.

Will this post of yours be on right-wing radio just like your last one? Bin Laden for DNC chair huh? I think he's already employed by Bush.

8. May be a group of 5 everyday working people.
They should make an average wage, one have children home. one a person over 65, one in the professions and one that has been in the service, and one that can speak in public. How about that for the party of the people?

9. Dean or Trippi
Not only that, but I think they should rename the party to the Deanocratic party and fashion it in their image.

10. Cynthia McKinney (just kidding). Leon Panetta would be my first pick,
Edited on Thu Nov-06-03 12:01 PM by Flying_Pig
second, would be the Crazy Cajun. Actually, Carville might be a better first pick at this point. We need new blood, and a down and dirty fighter. Another good pick would be Mosley-Braun.

13. Tom O'Neill III
Tom O'Neill the former Lt. Governor of Massachusetts and son of a political Icon. His name was floated once before and would be a great choice.

Outreach to the party faithful, Labor, Urban Democrats, Women, the traditional democratic base.

17. John Breaux
He is ruthlessly practical and, whatever else you think of him, a Democrat through and through. If he retires, I think he should take it over and come up with a way to deal with the Confederate Flag guys and the existing core constituencies.
