A Sad State of Affairs - This is what we are up against
Edited on Thu Nov-06-03 12:21 PM by TNOE
If you don't feel like getting pissed off today - don't go to this site - but if you feel like waking somebody up - have at it.

Two worst enemies of America is 1) Liberals and 2) Al Quada.

1. Fight fire with fire!
Give the bastards a taste of their own medicine; get the message out that CONSERVATIVES are poisoning America.

However, I don't think liberals and independents should appear TOO united. Let's face it, there's also massive corruption in our ranks. We need to let the public know that we're cleaning up our act while fighting the great evil - conservatives.

3. We are up against what the German Social Democrats were in 1933
Though we are (were) a different nation with a different character, thus the methodologies employed are tailored to THIS time and place.

Which means that, for the moment, things are "kinder and gentler".

5. I think its only for the moment
Tom - things are getting more and more divided, there is more hatred for everyone and everything now - seemingly - it is truly frightening. Surely we have progressed more than this in 50-60 years. Knuckle-draggers come to mind when I see these things - and believe me - this site is full of this. I don't even know why I go there - I guess just to show myself that there really are people out there who love this * - otherwise I would never beleive it.

4. Doctor, heal thyself
Be as shocked as you like about that site, but try starting a DU post asking whether Bush or Osama Bin Laden is a bigger threat to America, and I'm sure you'll get similar results here. Broad painting of political enemies as enemies of the state is hardly a tactic unique to conservatives... and in the past we've been able to dismiss it as reactionary. Looking at DU now, I don't know if we can claim that high ground anymore.

8. Good Advice
Doctor, heal thyself. I like that - forgot about that saying. You are right to some extent though I'm sure. I try and always stay away from the flame baits on this site - and go for the educational, enlightening posts.

6. Sites like this actually incite violence against liberals. Between them,

and the Hannity's and the Savage-Weiner's of the world, they seem to be pushing for a violent civil war, especially if they see their side losing in the polls or elections.

Fact is, as far as danger to our democracy goes, the Republicans, PNAC, and the BFEE, are all a far greater danger than Al Qaeda, so I have the exact opposite viewpoint.

But that's what politics is all about now: polarization. Used to be, one could have civil discussions with the "other" side. No more. They have demonized us so badly, that any compromise with us is viewed as treason. And now, I feel pretty much the same about "them".

The divide grows, and will only be narrowed when they are fully, and completely, dis-credited, indicted, punished, and thrown from office.

Sooner or later, all of the "dirt" is going to come out, and not even their most committed "wing-nut" supporters will be able to stand by them. I look forward to that, because it will bring a period of re-crimination, that will see them eating their own. Care for a napkin, and some ketchup with that?

9. Very well said
And I'm inclined to agree with you. I have found myself visualizing and thinking about - what about when it all blows up and the truth comes out about everything - 9/11, lies to start a war, the real devastion and loss for Americans - and wonder how they will all react to their "hero" then.... how do they all walk away in indignation... I'm not old enough or too young to care or pay attention to what happened after Nixon's fall or to remember if ever things were this divided or this bad.

10. Things weren't as bad during Nixon's fall. We still had the .....

"Fairness Doctrine" so the truth could get out. There were no Rush's or Hannity's stirring the masses of the brain dead, and there were still Repiglians who were moral citizens. That's all changed. In my over 1/2 century of life, and 35+ years of being involved in and understanding politics, I've never seen it like it is now.

Historically, the only thing that compares to it, is pre-WWII Germany, and the rise of fascism and Hitler. The difference now, rhetorically speaking, is that liberals are the new "Jews" to Bush's fascists. We are to be looked down upon, spit on, demeaned, and soon, if we don't stop them, physically abused.

This is why I am also a strong supporter of gun ownership. If they come, they wil not find a "passive" liberal here.

7. This is the 3rd time in 2 days I've seen a conservative suggest :
Zero tolerance and death to liberals!

"QUOTE (ChaimBenPesach @ Nov 4 2003, 07:39 PM)
a fascist, zero tolerane mindset is the only way to fight the insidious liberalism that has poisoned our society. This is indeed a war and the liberal victories have been many but we have god and truth on our side, and with those we cannot fail."

"Death squads anyone? "

I take it this was a post on a conservitive site?

Why can't this be reported in the media?

ARe there any hate laws that apply to this?

Just taking this at this stage can't be good.
