A Perry County woman informed the Perry County Board that since separation of church and state prohibits the county from allowing a nativity scene on the courthouse lawn, she does not want them to allow the three-story Santa to be erected this year either.
Patricia Roberts said some people worship Santa, therefore he is a religious symbol and should not be allowed. A skeptical board made no response.
Roberts approached the board last year, asking for permission to put a Nativity scene on the courthouse lawn during the Christmas season. She was told that a nativity scene would be illegal.

The Dover board expects to vote Monday at its regular meeting at North Salem Elementary School on whether to support the pledge. Its vote stems from a request made by former board member Larry Snook, who said the board should take a stand in support of the pledge
...Board member Alan Bonsell said during the meeting that the pledge’s reference to God did not imply a Christian god or any specific god. “The pledge is voluntary,” Bonsell said. “And for those that say it, it can mean any god they want.”

2. Yeah, Santa always gets an altar, and offerings, and people light candles |
|
and incense to make him come every Dec. 25. Guess that means those Christmas lists are really prayers.
Freakin' idiot.

Some people worship trees. Therefore, trees are religious symbols. Therefore, we must remove them from federal parks. The government doesn't have the money to do it, so the private sector will have to take care of it.
Look at me, I'm Karl Rove!
