Nancy Pelosi's press conference is on C-SPAN right now and she is addressing an issue with Republicans on them shutting Dems out on the FAA conference committee... What happened there?

1. Could she be refering to the energy conference committee?

The dems were blocked out - the repubs worked with lobbyists and did the bill in piecemeal (as in ... here's the goodies for the nuke industry... here's the oil and drilling goodies...) The plan was to give the dems 48 hours to review at the end (rather than be a part of the process which is the usual practice) a document so HUGE that most of the damage wouldn't be caught/seen. News leaks on provisions paint a horrific picture, and the dems in the senate are considering a filibuster.

2. Dems are being shut out of everything in the Senate as well....

So FAA could just as well be Energy, Medicare, etc. One Senator who was a guest with Randi Rhodes yesterday, I think it was Pryor,specifically mentioned how Dems were being shut out of committee.

And you may recall, a group of Dems "invaded" one such meeting only a couple of weeks ago...I think it was on Medicare.

This should be an issue in the campaign and now as well! When the papers say "Congress passes...." it implies that Dems were involved, when often, they've been cut out of the process early on....
