Lets talk about Sharpton... |
|
I can't stand Sharpton. I'm just going to put that out there.
All of these posts I keep seeing about Sharpton "winning" the debates is infuriating.
Can anyone educate me as to why he is running? It seems to me that if you are a candidate that does not stand a chance in hell of winning, you should drop out and throw your support to a candidate with a chance of winning? Am I wrong here? I realize the Democratic Party is about inclusion and I respect that, but 9 candidates? I mean, give me a break. It's too crowded and there has to be some way to not to let it turn into a circus atmosphere like it is right now.
The fact that Sharpton shines in the debate says more about the debates than about Sharpton. If you have watched Sharpton for a long time you realize that he has no grasp of what he is talking about whatsoever. I agree with a lot of what he says, but he is simply parroting the points that other candidates are making. He doesn't understand the nuts and bolts of how it all works. He just knows the catch phrases.
It is my opinion that having him in the running at all HURTS the Dems. Having Sharpton say in the last debates "We need a candidate that believes in something...I've been arrested, I've been STABBED!" LOL! I mean, COME ON PEOPLE!!!
Now everybody think about this on the surface really quick! You've got resident Bush on one side...very rich, nice suit, lots of "class"....and than on the Dem side...SOME GUY THAT GOT STABBED! LOL! Does everyone here realize how that looks to middle America?
I literally almost fell out of my chair when he said that...I am telling you, having a candidate like him in the field is an embarrassment.
Sorry for the rant, I just think Sharpton, Lieberman, Kucinich, and Braun need to drop the hell out, for the good of the party. We got an asshole with 200 million dollars to compete against. There is no room for vanity candidates.

(which has turned into a frickin' circus) that he was actually bringing something important to the campaign. He has a flair that attracts the attention of the average voter, which tends to rub off on the other candidates. I thought he was an integral part of the Dem party. But, this Dean thing has really changed my views on him. I'm not as angry at him as I am at Edwards, but, Sharpton jumped on this issue first. He really seems to be wanting to make race a huge issue in this campaign.
On edit: You know, I wouldn't call Bush classy- I'd be more likely to call him a lying, murdering, scumsucking corporate whore. Oh yeah- he's a dumbshit, too.

You thought Sharpton was "an integral part" of the Democratic Party? Based on what?

4. If you wish to start a vanity thread (ie: a discussion thread in which the sole purpose is to share your personal opinion) you must state your opinion in a non-inflammatory manner which respects differences in opinion and facilitates actual discussion.

not that there's nothing wrong with that, but he plays the race card a tad too much, we all know how luny jesse jackson has gotten lately. Sharpton has no college education to speak of either.
