I've seen that in other polls, too. Independents are much closer to the Dems than they are to the Repukes.

Although I'd bet if you look at the positions of Democratic presidents, they would probably gravitate towards the republican positions.

http://www3.uakron.edu/SCBOE/elec1103.txtThe Republicans have lost their entire swing vote in my area. Dems won almost ALL of the elections by 40 points. Massive swing in our direction.
