What the "heck" is our point? Do "We" even know what we're fighting for?

Dumb question, I'm positive, flames of "I'm involved damnit! You're an "Dillhole"!" are expected.

Now my query. It involves the meat and potatoes (Props to the dumd"Headed" people) of the "WHY"?

Sure I'm working hard to play tennis (with any luck next Saturday....I really just wanted to have some beers with him, yet he's apparently a tea-drinker only, no alcohol...) with the nice guy from Bangledesh that I know, from the corner "Circle K", but, other than that Black "girl" in HR, I really don't have any "Minority" friends, I only recently realized how "White" my world was...

I have a philosophy that demands Equality, that demands Egalitarianism, that wants Social Harmony, yet (Like every activist event that I attend...) I really don't have many non-WASPS (Or other econo-ethnic acquantences) in my circle of friends!

Which made me think that we might be a bunch of (understandably) guilty Liberals wondering what the fuck went wrong with Society and why they're all so discombobulated?...

I guess that I'm trying to point out what should be obvious...I'm living in the perfect Republican World! I've got a good job, I've got a pension, I've got Healthcare when I need it, I've got a nice place to live, I've got...ME ME ME!

I harp constantly about Fair Trade, Women's Rights, Marriage (As in same-sex marriage) Freedom, National Healthcare (I've got bunches of it! Who want's some?!)Worker's Rights/Unions, Living Wages, Progressive Taxation (Or a Maximum Income...Why not? We've already got a Minimum Wage (Income), No?) yet the fact is that I live in WhiteManSuburbiana!

Am I an anomoly?

Why should I care, I'm OK, no?

Yes I'm drunk now...Figuratively as well as the easy to do "Literally".

Is this a GD thread? I would say so...Why? Because I'm sitting here wondering what the fuck "our" candidates are going to propose in a Macro sense outside of my happy existance? What will they do to make someone else's live better? Why? I'm SET! "BITE" me!

What about everyone else?????

Who has a Macro Policy that takes in to account that some people get FUCKED in our "Happy Clappy" country????

Well?

PS~ I only post this because every activist meeting that I've attended is mostly white...Not that this is an inherantly a "bad" thing but..

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Amendment VI

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.

Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

We're fighting to reinstitute our Constitutionally granted rights and freedoms, as I see it...

As too the Constitution? It's a well used pice of paper. It's done good.
I suppose it meant well because of the Amendments. I can only hope:-)
