Wes Clark demonstrates real leaders don't need to play "dress up"

Democratic presidential hopeful retired Gen. Wesley Clark (news - web sites), leans off the stage to shake hands with supporter Stf. Sgt. Brad Owens, with the 345th Millitary Intelligence Battallion out of Augusta, Ga., right, after he spoke to a group of students and supporters on the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta, Friday, Nov. 7, 2003. 1. That's fantastic!
Seriously...how much would you pay to see Bush debate a 4-star general who is widely respected in Europe? It'd be better than the Super Bowl.

2. There was a pro-Clark letter in my local paper (Ala)
the other day. I was shocked. I wasn't too sure about why he was getting in the race, but since I've heard him at the debates and in interviews, I like him.

I know people like to bring up his "republican past," but I think that's wrong. If we don't welcome people like him to the progressive side, why would any others want to join us? I think we should be glad he saw the light.

4. I'm telling you ...
... I think Clark would make (at least) a good VP or Sec of Defense/State

3. The soldier in the picture. . . .
. . . is it ok for him to be at a political event in uniform?

5. Probably, since he's not the one running for anything....
however, it's possible he will end up at Guatanemo if Karl Rove can see to it.

6. Doesn't look as if
the soldier is actually in uniform. Don't see rank or name on his top. Looks generic.

8. Wes Clark sounded very good on his NPR interview 11-06
Listening to the General Clark interview with Bob Edwards yesterday on NPR, I was impressed by his strong statements for organized labor and concerning the "partial-birth-abortion" nonsense. He did a great job of linking his military experience with his support for organized labor, explaining the difference between the wage differential of a four-star general and a regular recruit vis-a-vis the wage differential of a corporate ceo and a regular union worker. He also clearly stated that he would veto bills like the one the simian-faced-idiot signed this week attempting to place limits on abortions.

(As good as the General sounded, he does not exceed the sharpness of Rep. Kucinich as he appeared in his interview on the local "liberal" talk-radio show last night.)

I want to offer this positive note for Wes Clark supporters, and should my man Dennis not make it to the nomination, I promise to keep an open mind about this "military" guy and his approach to national leadership.

9. Thanks. . .
. . .General Clark is someone that I hope everyone will consider. As many of us Clark will work hard to get him nominated we are prepared to support whomever our party nominates.
