3. You should make it a roll call vote

harder to freep. If they have to speak up, you can tell who is who.

Alternatively, you can add an option -- "I am not an Edwards supporter" -- that might give mischevious supporters of other candidates something to click on. It may help a little, although not much.

A roll-call vote is the only way you can prevent freeping.

4. Boy, that's a toughie

Sad to even think about, too...

I voted Kerry, but I must say I'm liking Clark more, much as I have problems with his staff's tactics and the fact that he's much more conservative than I'd like. Clark is surgically striking at Junior's mistakes, corruption and evil; that's to be applauded.

Kucinich has a place in my heart, but I don't think he has a chance, and I also think he's impractical in some of the "get there now" approach. Yes, single-payer healthcare is the only way in a sensible and fair society, but it won't fly; we can get there incrementally, though.

Don't want a person-of-the-cloth as an executive, don't think Gephardt is an executive by nature, can't stand Quisling Joe, like Mosely-Braun but don't think she has a chance or a detailed enough platform, just plain don't like Dean as a person and think he's too conservative.

Regardless who's nominated, though, I'll see you on the barricades and work like a dog.

Edwards also has THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN IN A GENERAL ELECTION. He's also sensibly liberal, decent and honorable. I love his platform because of its detail, practicality and humanity. (I still hate the war vote.)

5. My Question is: Why Isn't Edwards a Front Runner?

At the beginning of the race, I would have bet Edwards would have either been the frontrunner, if not one of the more sucessful ones. He was a "new democrat", yet more palatable than Lieberman, he had charisma and charm.

What happened?

For the record, I am not an Edwards supporter per se - - but I don't think he's a bad candidate.

I go STRICTLY according to which one has the best chance to beat bush. What else will matter on 1/20/05???

Clark seems to be gaining recently; I can see him beating bush next year. Dean *might* be able to beat bush, but the media whores will hang the lethal word "Ultra liberal" around his neck, and it will be virtually impossible to get the 20% swing voters past that. (They are not smart, but they have been programmed over the years that 'liberal' is BAD!).

But I still expect the DNC / DLC to install Kerry as nominee, regardless if whether he has a chance to beat bush or not. Kerry *might* pick Clark or Edwards for his VP. But it will not be Dean.
