Poll question: To what degree do you think George W Bush controls his (mis)administration |
|
No scope for an Other category, of course, but kindly explain in replies why you answer as you do. Personally, I think he has a fairly high level of control, but a fatally facile grasp of every issue, which is how he's led the US so far astray in such a short period of time.
For extra credit, to what degree do you think Dubya has control over the US? Is this worth starting a second poll? (If you think so and have a star, feel free to go ahead and start one.)
Yeah, I know I said I'm on hiatus, but I just got to wondering...

He's never shown any evidence of even being more than superficially aware of what's going on around him. I think the 'free-speech zones' are enforced so that he doesn't find out that he's reviled--I honestly doubt that he knows!
(and speaking of the so-gennante FSZs: why in hell did it take the ACLU so long to contest those blatant violations of our First Amendment rights?)

3. He has as much control |
|
as any spoiled child. He will kick, scream and hold his breath until he gets his way with KKKarl and Uncle Dicky.
Fortunately, they don't let him play with grown up stuff or sharp objects.

7. Bush was picked by PNAC because he would not be in control |
|
I can't imagine him in control of anything. He was selected to be a sock puppet. I think that Chaney is the visible part of a larger group of people who are in control.

I've heard too much about whether or not he's in control.
It's about ultimate responsibility. * is ultimately responsible for the actions of his administration.
Those "below" him are ultimately responsibile for their actions.
End Of Story.

10. For the 66% saying "not a bit," what's your evidence? |
|
Just because he's an idiot who can't frame a simple declarative sentence doesn't mean he doesn't run the show. That there are powers behind him running, for instance, the media doesn't mean he doesn't run the administration, just that he doesn't run the country. What I've read about the inner workings indicates that he's very much hands-on; the problem is that we would be much better served were he just to stick in Crawford. Opinions?
