Woman's Anti-Bush Obituary Draws Money
(I didn't see this anywhere, but if it's a dupe, sorry!)

NEW ORLEANS - Gertrude M. Jones didn't want flowers or cards when she died. She wanted to get rid of President Bush (news - web sites).

The 81-year-old woman's obituary asked that memorial donations be given "to any organization that seeks the removal of President Bush from office."

And people around the country are following her wishes.

In an online memorial book to Jones, dozens of people posted messages of support. Many wrote that they would contribute to the Democratic National Committee (news - web sites) or one of the presidential contenders.

This story really inspired me. We need more patriots like this dear woman. God Bless her!

2. Now that is a legacy wish with dignity and honor.
I really hate to say that.

It is pathetic and a void of patriotism that Republicans started this war of hate against Americans and the world.

Sally Baron of "whistle ass fame, was the 1st.

We MUST listen to our elders. They are wise and right.

Thank you and safe journey, Ms. Gertrude Jones!

7. Our elders have been a saving grace.
When I think about people like this woman and Senator Byrd, I realize that it's the older generation that is paving the way for us to take back our democracy. Look at how the senior citizens respect the right to vote. One of the most powerful organizations in this country is the AARP. I remember in the aftermath of Election 2000 when the senior citizens in Palm Beach were furious with the fact that they believed their votes weren't counted.

The respect our Constitution and are fighting (even in death) for the rights of the younger generation to have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I only hope the rest of us follow their example.
