From my yahoo frong page - a headline:
"Bush Shifts Focus to Economy Amid Iraq Woes"
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=584&e=1&u=/nm/20031107/pl_nm/bush_dcPresident Bush (news - web sites), seizing on good economic news on a day when U.S. forces suffered another deadly setback in Iraq (news - web sites), on Friday hailed signs the job market may be recovering at last.
This is the beginning of good news for job seekers," he said.
Bush made no mention of Friday's crash of a U.S. Black Hawk helicopter in Iraq in which all six people on board died after probably being shot down by a rocket-propelled grenade, but the White House expressed regret about the deaths through a spokesman.
*****Then there is this headline:
"Stocks Fall as Strong Jobs Data Priced In"
Stocks fell on Friday as concerns over recent lofty share price gains dampened enthusiasm for a report showing U.S. businesses hired more than twice the number of workers expected in October.
*****GOSH, who really thinks our economy is SURGING back into place? Pretty easy to manipulate the numbers for non-tangibles as opposed to hiding blood and carnage. Basically, Bush doesn't have a pot to pee in. Can't really focus on being a war-time hero president; and can't really focus (not really) on the economy. And how on earth is he ever going to make it up to his corporate buddies now that their stocks are falling (evil labor! evil labor!)? Maybe a tax cut?
*****Bush is in DIRE need of something other domestic or foreign war scenarios. Maybe a big time disaster? Oh, they had to shut the Saudi Embasssy down: IMMINENT threat and all!
"U.S. Sees Imminent Attacks in Saudi, Shuts Embassy"
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=578&e=3&u=/nm/20031107/ts_nm/security_saudi_usa_dcThe United States said Friday that guerrillas were close to carrying out attacks in Saudi Arabia and that U.S. diplomatic missions in the Gulf Arab state would close Saturday to review the security situation.
The warning by the U.S. embassy followed Saudi security raids Thursday in which three militants suspected of links to Saudi-born Osama bin Laden (news - web sites)'s al Qaeda network were killed.
*****sorry bush boy, but eventually the fundies are going to catch on to the fact that you haven't caught Osama. We like a good turn in our scary dramas here in the US.
Everyone duck, cause this is one heck of a desperate situation for the GOP/neocons.
