2. Closing an embassy for business isn't pulling out

if you know of a link that says the US has severed diplomatic ties with the house of Saud, and is removing all its personnel from SA, I'd like to see it.

Otherwise, I'll read the closings as 1) the cover story, reducing the number of personnel present at a suspected target and 2) the real diplomatic message, the US is sticking their finger at the Sauds and saying...without us your country you can't maintain the peace. You should consider letting us back in.
