Should Dems want war, too? "The Dirty War of the Tough Minded Liberals"
I wish to recommend this splendid recent essay by Mark Hand, who runs the Press Action web site. Its critical view of the neoliberal taste for war, as expressed in the pages of The Washington Post and The American Prospect, is something Democrats of good conscience should consider as they ponder why their party isn't calling for withdrawal from Iraq.

The essay is a very good lens for viewing Iraq war plans such as the one put forward here by Wes Clark:

Can the party avoid falling into another of its habitual "we're-as-bloody-as-Repugs" black holes? Or is the war-making ethos too institutionalized for establishment Dems to do otherwise?
