OMG. Dean raised $5.3 million since Thursday
Just heard that on Fox News (which I'm only watching because I loathe CNN and MSNBC goes to fluff stuff on Saturday afternoons).

FIVE POINT THREE MILLION SINCE THURSDAY.

7. Amazing --
although the Dean team is slipping -- I haven't received any communication from them for weeks. Some how I got dropped off their email list. I guess I'll have to go register again. Actually now that I come to think about it, I haven't had any email correspondence since the last time I gave a donation and offered to be a volunteer. I also suggested what I think would be a great way to get the message out especially for most of the people in the US who don't read and that is to put it on a CD and do mass mailings the way AOL does. It's light, it's cheap and who knows maybe more than few people might pop it into their CD player on the way to work.

23. I don't know about you, but the $100 challenge (I pledged)
made me send off a check immediately...I hate to make promises I don't keep, so I wrote the check right away. This was different from the credit card donation. I wanted to write headquarters a note and to vary things a little.

Zidz, I suspect the campaign will continue to see $$ rolling in.

It's now up to us, all of it.

Ain't it fun?!

die hard Edwards backer here. I'm pessimistic against Deans chances, but he's coming through raising money big time.

6. I think that may just be 'pledges' for donations.
Edited on Sat Nov-08-03 04:17 PM by nownow
Just for the record, of course. They asked on the funds vote balloting for pledges of support, I think that's where the $5 million figure comes from. Not that he's had a problem getting people to pay up, mind you -- but I doubt that's real cash in hand.

(Edit) -- I know because I've got a pledge to pony up in the next couple of weeks!

8. They asked for both -- pledges and actual donations.
I pledged. I didn't donate again (yet).

AND, the pledge was between now and Iowa, which is in January (past the end of the quarter). I think the report was right too because I know a lot of people on the blog said they were already donating (or had) before voting was even open.

Wow, so that means Dean will raise 2.5 million a day on average until the general election.

Whoa, so that means Dean will have almost a billion dollars should he be the nominee by Nov. 2004.

And humans will colonize Mars in the next 2 years also.

28. Yeah
How dare Dean supporters celebrate this amazing fundraising feat. Those bastards. They should shut up and support Clark!

Tell me, do you honestly think that anyone who supports Dean thinks he is going to get $2.5 million a day for another year? Your blinding hatred of not only Dean but anyone who supports him is starting to wear thin.

By the way, how much has YOUR favorite candidate raised? Feeling jealous?

Well, I must confess, I gave him another $50 last week. Every time the DLC attacks him (almost), I feel compelled to donate. It's a reflex reaction. ;)

29. damn good news to hear.
i hope the doc beats the ever living shit out of bush with a big bag of money.

the standard attack on dems is that they are not the party of the people because the dems garner so much money from large sum contributors in ratio to their small sum contributors while the opposite is true for the GOP.

dean is reversing this ratio and it is important to get out the word that dean is supported by regular joes and janes.

glad to see the doc forgo matching funds, he would be fighting bush with one hand behind his back if he did.
