Sorry, but the ex-colonies usually have maintained the dominant religion of their former colonial powers: Roman and Anglican Catholic. Not to mention that many African countries also have sizeable Muslim populations. Where are Baptists dominant in Africa?

ON EDIT: Not to mention that there is no such animal as "African tribal culture"--there are hundreds, if not thousands, of African cultures and hundreds of African languages. Today we know little about the pre-colonial history of most of those cultures, so your assertion is unfounded. Or do you have a link to back it up, TrogL?
