Draft Gore indeed! ...............
Gore is vintage today. It just makes me more proud to be in a campaign trying to draft the man. He is far and above the other candidates. Gore is still the one! If he had run his campaign in the same way that he has been speaking lately, he would have won 2000 in a landslide.

No campaign can combat that. Yet Gore won anyway. I don't trust who the media chooses for us.

15. There is always a way to combat it .......
If you can't figure out how to combat it, you won't be able to function as President either.

I have great affection for Gore, but I did not like his 2000 campaign.
I think that he has now learned what he needs to know.

I saw it happen and I've wondered ever since why the media did it. I still don't under stand that.

I would love to see Gore enter this race, as unfair to the other candidates as it may appear to some. He would have my support without hesitation. He is our rightful President.

9. Gore is THE MAN. Maybe he could unite the party.
I really like Edwards, Clark and Kerry. But maybe we should think about seriously drafting Gore - especially given the deep divisions among Democratic supporters of the candidates in the field.

This speech is utterly tremendous. Gore's honesty, intellect, and anger at this mis-administration are powerful.

But coming in this late, after repeatedly saying he wouldn't, would make him look worse than Perrot with his "I'm in! I'm out!" bit.

It would personally be insulting to all of us, no matter who the candidate, for him to come in. He had his chance to declare, but too many people have spent too much time on the campaigns at this point. Clark only got in "under the wire" imo, and that's mostly because there was such a long lead-up to his announcement.

Gore would just embarass himself if he came in now. I don't think he'd get a fraction of the support now that he would have had just 6 months back.

Maybe 2008 (if we lose) or 2012. I'd love to see a Gore/Hillary ticket then, just to see the freepers in a fit.

it would have been magnificent without qualification. Maybe it was magnificent anyway. (Yes, I realize the theme was Civil Liberties, & not foreign policy.)

The speech was filled with substance from start to finish. It was accurate, brave, and brilliantly delivered. Gore has apparently developed a great deal, in his "time off."

If he is drafted at a deadlocked convention, it will
look great for him and be great for America. The rightful President up for re-election.

Alot of people will realize how unfairly he was treated last

He should then make Trippi his campaign manager.
With Trippi as his campaign manager, he'll win and change

I hope it's part of a series.

The republicans will have to neutralize him somehow. One way they might do it is to distract from what he's saying to rehash the 2000 campaign, or to speculate on his intentions to run again.

Let's focus on the powerful message he is bringing us. :toast:

But I think too many people are too far invested in their own candidate to do the right thing...

...but I don't see a deadlocked convention, unless Edwards sweeps the southern states (won't happen), Dean loses California and New York (won't happen) and Gephardt sweeps the industrial states (won't happen).

I'd rather see Gore just declare his candidacy. I wonder if the "DNC insiders" who discouraged Gore last year are any happier with a Dean or Gephardt candidacy. They should be careful what they wish for.

59. How about Gore as the US envoy to the UN & Clinton as the Middle...
...East envoy in an effort to rebuild much of the lost stature of the US? Gore could never catch up to Dean at this stage in the game. BTW, my "dream team" is a Dean/Clark or Clark/Dean ticket (but I suspect the former's will be the outcome due to Dean's $$ advantage). I worked in Gore's campaign in 2000, but his new role seems to be the person who can attack Bush's policies with sufficent gravitas. It still makes me sad/mad when I read Gore speeches like the one he gave this weekend. He would have a damn good president!

So, I have a ton of respect for Gore, and so does the world community, that why he needs to play some sort of vital role with the UN under a new US administration in 2005, with energy policy as a pivotal issue. With Dean/Clark running the country and Gore/Clinton handling some of international diplomacy issues at the UN and in the Middle East, we will stand a much better chance of restoring some of what we have lost under the neocon Imperialist administration.

Just think, London and everywhere else becomes a locked-down police state where ever Bush travels, but not with Gore and Clinton, the world actually repects these men...heck, London and rest of the world will probably throw a welcome party where ever Dean/Clark/Gore and Clinton travel...:-)
