Poll question: General Election: if Dean were leading or trailing by huge margin... |
|
Edited on Mon Nov-10-03 07:54 PM by AP
...in your state, do you think, by virtue of it being Dean with the nomination, would you be more likely or less likely to vote for a third party?
What I'm trying to capture is the "he's not quite what I'm looking for" sentiment.
I voted for Gore in a state that Gore won by a HUGE margin. I like the Green Party, but I really feared a Bush victory, and I wanted to make sure that I was counted as a Democrat voting Democratic in 2000. Also, although I had a huge problem with Gore as a candidate, and although the Green Party platform is where I'm at politically, I still LOVE the Democratic Party (and I love a poltical winner), and, in a tie, I'll almost always vote Democratic over Green. Obviously there are other people who fall to the left of that sentiment.
I want to know, in 2004, how many people see themselves falling to the left of that threshold, and how many fall to the right of that thresshold, particularly if Dean is the nominee.
So, if Dean is the nominee and is being blown out, or if Dean is blowing Bush out in your state would you be more inclined to vote third party in 2004?

2. I joined because I wanted to engage in a debate within the left... |
|
...rather than the insipid debate between the left and the totally discredited right. I got tired of the press acting like the right had anything reasonable to bring to the table.
For a long time the debate here was within the left.

4. In 2000 I told people to vote with the popular vote in mind |
|
I knew there might indeed be a schism and of course there was. You should vote as you would want history to show.

the "I hate Dean" sentiment.

13. Usually, I get a "you're push polling" complaint. I didn't this time. |
|
You know why? Because I was push polling for a a No vote.

14. Wouldn't you be more honest by just coming out |

and saying ABD?
Seems to be your strategy, along with the rest of your ilk.
3rd party? Why not just vote for Bush*
Same difference.
B'Bye...

Being from Texas... you're telling me Dean has a blowout lead and you want to know what I'd do? I'd start looking for the pods.

would rather see Bush than Dean in the White House for four more years.
On edit....
I re-read your question and now see what you are asking.
Nevermind.

I'm a democrat and I will vote for the democratic nominee regardless of whether he is winning by 20-points or losing by 20-points.

19. AntiDean frothers are revealing the conservatives in the Dems |

We should thank them for that. One must be aware of a problem before one can deal with it.
