Anyone believe Gore will come out of the woodwork and run for Prez? |
|
I was talking to my friend and co-worker yesterday who is a Brown University graduate, and he seems to think Gore might do just that.
He says he thinks Dean is not well received by the Democratic-Washington insiders and are afraid he might win the nomination. Talking Points Memo (Josh Marshall) kind of confirms my friends line of thinking in that Josh writes: ...."Third: Our models for primary campaigns are based on frontrunners who are supported, by and large, by the party establishment. That’s not the case here. And that makes a difference. So there's an asterisk by his frontrunnerdom." ....
If the Party bosses conclude that Dean is a threat, does Gore run for Prez at the behest of a "grassroots" - "Draft Gore" campaign? And what implications, if any, will this have on disaffecting democratic voters?
I know these are all hypotheticals and way ahead of anything that is out there now but I'm just curious.
Bush MUST be thrown out of office, I just don't want to see us self-destruct in the face of this soft-core fascism we are currently living under.

It's precisely because he's not running that he has the freedom to speak his (and our) mind.

He's made his decision pretty clear. Incidently, I support him in whatever he wants to do.

5. Does the party do that or just drops the guy if they do not win? |
|
I do not recall but does seem like the ones that do not win are gone. Course with Gore it is hard as he did get more votes than Bush only not in the 'college' and that was a real mess as fare as I can see. Gore is a very middle of the road Dem but I did think he would be a good president.

Nor do I think we are going to see a Gore/Clinton ticket any time soon.

you have 8 other candidates from which to choose and all have their merits. Perhaps you can consider supporting one of them instead of wasting your time wishing Gore would step in. We need ALL Democrats participating in this one -- regardless of which DECLARED CANDIDATE you support.
