Cost of closing London for George's visit. |
|
Anyone got the figures. Disruption to business is going to run into the tens of millions, if not hundreds. Shall we bill him?
Will that be Mastercard or Visa, chimpy?

7. It should be the American taxpayers-- |
|
after all they live in that Shining City on the Hill and are the envy of the whole world. When you are The World's Only Superpower, you can afford to be generous. It's not like there are any problems back home.

The cost to the British government for security and "special" arrangements will be 4 Million Pounds. I haven't come across a figure for what the disruption will cost the businesses or the financial markets.

6. I can't believe that England will let Blair get away with this |
|
I mean, they have a history of dealing harshly with tyrannical rulers.
Blair is rubbing their faces in it with AWOL's fat ass shutting the country down.
I predict violence when the protesters are herded away from Moron.

There was huge, huge, massive public outcry in the run-up to the war. I think the anti-war protests were Britain's biggest public gatherings EVER. There's no way Blair's going to walk away from this unscathed.
