Thank You VETS!
For your sacrifice, for doing things that would make a grown man cry.
There IS honor in this life, even if the powers that be don't recognize that.
You are my brothers and sisters, as surely as if we had the same parents.
I grieve today for the fallen and hope for the safe return of the troops in the Middle East.
I was lucky, I served in peacetime. 2 cousins, 4 uncles and lots of my friends had to go to war.
Today is the day to honor them.
I will be making some calls tonite, to give them thanks.

2. Thank you for caring.
There were some positive things I got out of being in a war zone but not many.

I got a Cal-Vet mortage loan this year @ 4.5% interest.

But your thanks is worth much more than that to me.

5. I don't really deserve your praise in that regard
I was in Nam and I don't feel like I protected anyone's rights or freedoms. I'm still not sure what the purpose was that we were there but I did serve and if a real war were to have come up I would have been there for you. I am ashamed of what my country did in Viet Nam so won't accept your praise for my efforts but do appreciate your thoughts. Thank You.

9. Thank You
As a disabled Viet Nam Vet who, when seperated took up the cause of Viet Nam Vets Against The War, it's nice to hear. I still remember Sunday's at the Griffith Park Carousel in LA. Listening to free concerts, eating free food, reading the LA Free Press, and smoking some good ....... LOL. It sounds like it was all freebies but I had a job too so I gave a lot back.

15. My Son's
middle name is his great uncles first name.
"Benny" was killed in France. My wife's mother (Benny's sister) said he was a good boy. He is still missed in that house.
My son WILL know his namesake, and the sacrifice he gave.
Peace to all that bear the scars of war.
