Kudos to David Gregory (NBC WH correspondent) |
|
Gregory has grown a spine. Today I watched him grill Scott McClellan and also grill Paul Bremer. Asking hardball questions and pressing, pressing, pressing for answers. I believe he made Bremer sweat this morning.
It isn't that many months ago that I watched Gregory on a panel discussion of media and the WH where he defended a lily-livered press corps by saying that access was everything, and if the WH correspondents were more aggressive they would lose access.
Perhaps he has realized that the press has the power to destroy a president.
So if you're feeling like rewarding the kind of behavior a press member should exhibit, drop Gregory a line and thank him for being the watchdog of the people's interest.

a while back. Vive la resistance!

5. Me thinks David did not like Bush's attempt to |
|
humiliate him for speaking French. Keep it up, Georgie...What a way to influence people and make friends. Perhaps the guy Bush repeatedly humiliates re: his "face made for radio," will join Gregory and my dear Helen Thomas....

8. I remember that little scenario w/ David speaking excellent French |
|
* didn't like it at all and tried to humiliate him. No *, you are the one being humiliated on a daily basis.
And oh, BTW *, you speak Spanish like someone from a first-year class.

10. Dirty Details below...* made an ass out of himself |
|
You know it won't stop people from asking questions about 9/11. All you people are doing is prolonging the inevitable. The questions are still going to keep coming, George. NBC's David Gregory gave you a hint of things to come during your disastrous press conference in France. Dave asked a poignant question to Bush that day and all the little brat could do was come up with a smart-alecky answer. When Gregory asked Bush about the protests that had dogged him during his European jaunt and the anti-Bush (not anti-American) feelings expressed by the protestors, he also asked, in French, for Chirac to comment as well.
Bush got all miffed and erroneously accused Gregory of "memorizing a few French words" in order to pass himself off as being "intercontinental." Does he think Gregory is a missile, or is this yet another example of Bush's lack of comprehension of the English language?
Bush then spewed the phrase "I'm impressed. Que bueno. Now, I'm literate in two languages." Well, I don't know Spanish for squat so I'll give him the benefit of a doubt. But, exactly what other language is Bush "literate" in? Oh, he better not be trying to include English in that statement. Anybody who's heard him speak without 3x5's or Karen Hughes knows that's an eighteen wheeler lie.
Then he went on about how Gregory might have seen people protesting but all he saw was people waving. That's right, George. Just keep blowing hot air into that bubble you live in. Face it, George, we the majority, despise you and so does most of the world. As you and yours like to say, get over it!

7. David Gregory has always been one of my favorites.... |
|
He won't usually take some "fluff" answer to his very pointed questions. He makes mince meat out of Scott McComa.
Gee, I hope they don't "send him to the back of the class" like the great Helen Thomas? LOL!
Just emailed him and glad I did.

|
"Thank you, David Gregory! For asking real questions that are so important for our Country! We Americans need a voice in the press and you and a few others are those "honest voices that can be louder than a crowd.""
