Desert property at tax auctions....this guy got 10 acres for $325..in the middle of the Colorado desert in Imperial Valley, CA.
He said that if land has water or plants, it costs a lot more..

4. East Montana, rural Dakotas, |
|
Probably more affordable property availible in remote & rural midwest areas. Helps if you already have somewhat of a bankroll, though. earning levels generally reflect these "affordable areas". Many of the locals you'll meet will be very hospitable as long as you quell their suspicion and mistrust of outsiders. You'll be proving youself as a worthy neighbor for quite a few years. Kind of a "When in Rome..." philosophy. Remember, that while they insist they all just mind their own business, they also hate to divuldge they are guilty of the need to mind their neighbor's business also. Guess it depends if you're looking for cheap rural or cheap small-city property. Good luck....Blaze

6. Farmers are moving out of N. Dakota because the growing season is short |
|
and the soil is not too splendid in the western part of the state. You cannot grow crops, but you might be able to range.

8. Alaska isn't in the continental US |
|
Maybe I should have said inhabited, non-desert, non-swamp, land
I'm not looking to move to any of these places. Working on a bussiness model for my entreprenuership class. Without getting into it too much.
Anywhere in the south or southwest that's unusually cheap but still somewhat if sparsly inhabited?

11. judging from the size of the profits |
|
compared to the bribes paid to get those profits,
I'd say 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is the cheapest real estate in America.
But it's not for sale.
I'd guess somewhere in the rural South.
