Props to Boston and Seattle
Boston for the big dig and Seattle for this new light rail thing:

http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/West/11/09/seattle.rail.ap/index.html

These are the types of projects we need to get america working again and to rebuilt the inner cities. 100s of billions of dollars to Iraq with no health care, rediculous mass transit and rotting inner cities is wrong. CMB is right. Rebuild america!

1. No props to Seattle!
They can't figure out what they want and everyone is still divided on the issue.

Light rail, or monorail.. They're going forth with both at the moment, talk about a complete waste of taxpayer money. Pick one form and go with it!

2. Not really props to Boston either

The project is so massive and took so long to complete, it is insane. Tolls, scheduled to be discontinued years ago, instead went up. Road projects all across the state went undone because the Big Dig sucked up all the money. The bribary, scandals and boondoggles have been of mind-numbing proportions, right in scale with the size of the project.

Watch the Discovery Channel special on the Big Dig. One thing I will admit...it is a stunning accomplishment, albeit, one that simply shouldn't have been accomplished. Some things you don't do just because you can. You and your kids and their kids and their kids will be paying for the Big Dig almost as long as Iraq.
