Russia and France lockiing up corporate crooks. Why can't the US?
News tonight reporting on the jail sentences of France's corporate crooks and Russia's oil baron crook. So when will Ken Lay go to jail?
I guess the same time Rush Limbaugh goes to jail.

2. Because the crooks are running the country, as are their best friends, ala
KEN LAY.

Get it?

The inmates are in charge of the asylum for the moment.

Unlike Russia, our corporate crooks and our unelected crooks who are nonetheless playing at being elected are friends.

In Russia, Khodorovsky and Putin are enemies. Ditto with Berehovsky (sp).

5. Russia is different....
The situation between Putin and former Yukos CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky is not so simple as to be deemed "Russia is locking up a crook". This story goes back ten years; starting when Yeltsin signed over all of the former Soviet Union's state-owned industries to a few elite moguls, through the ex-KGB personnel (the "siloviki") who have ascended to political power within the Kremlin under Putin, to the widespread but faltering view that Putin's Presidency guarentees Russia's stability. And by supporting his opponents (of which Khororkovsky is essentially being accused), you are undermining Russia's national security.

7. Because our corporate crooks have done what Kharakovsky failed to:
There are three simple rules for sucessful corporate crime that apply in both the United Sates and Russia:

1) Donate money to the political establishment's election campaigns

2) If you are a media company, report the news they want

3) Don't complain when we bust a small percentage of your illegal immigrant workers from time to time

The Russian gentlemen in question broke the rules.
