Republican Congress spending money like drunken sailors
Drunken sailors in a you-know-what house, that is.
The Washington Post has reported that discretionary federal spending has risen 12% in the last year.

Huh. 12%. Imagine that.

After years (decades actually) of listening to the right wing blowhards tell me that they, and only they, can control federal spending, we get a 12% increase in only one year.
"All those Democrats would do is waste the money", they told me. They said the Democrats would "waste the money on pork". They would "waste the money on entitlements". There would be political kick-backs, the Republicans told me.
"All those Democrats in Congress want to do is tax and spend". That's what the Republicans told me over, and over, and over again.

When Ronald Reagan ran for President in 1980, he told me that the Congressional Democrats were wasting my tax dollars, and that the only solution was to let the Republicans run Congress. Newt Gingrich told me the same thing. Mega dittos, Tom DeLay.
They Republicans all told me the same thing: That a Republican Congress would spend money wisely, and thereby lessen my tax burden.

Apparently, they were all quite WRONG about Congressional Republicans.
George W. Bush's one, and only, term as President has taught us that all of those Republicans were lying.

The 12% spending increases over last year amount to 91 billion dollars.

"President" Bush has demanded that Congressional discretionary spending be limited to 4% annual increases.
It appears they've spend next years increase too. And the year after that also.

1. Hate to be cynical but
now that the press has reported it...once..they'll go back to reporting the important things--murder trials, whether Prince Charles is gay..and of course, how unelectable any Democratic candidate is...

2. Their fiscal responsibility is worse
than a drunken sailor in Thailand.
They cut taxes three times, but raised the federal spending.

We are going to be paying for this one day with super high taxes that make European taxes look conservative.

5. Bunch of Lemmings, too
Ever notice how the whole bunch of them vote in lockstep?
It's as if they all have the same religion... Greed
They all voted to invade Iraq. Less than half of the Dems did.
When the Pugs do something they all climb aboard. There ain't one single, brave individual in the whole bunch.

Let there be no doubt, the Pugs are the: Borrow, Steal, and Spend, party. Pure BSS.

6. And the excuse....
"Republican Congress spending money like drunken sailors"

I'm waiting to hear if they complain that they were "rolled" out in the parking lot. A cousin says that alot when he can't make it home with any money after payday.

7. This SHOULD be the Democrats theme song in 2004.
1/3 of the population is right-wing, one third left wing, and one third blows either way in the middle. That middle third has been gradually drifting Republican, primarily because of the 'tax and spend' reputation given to Democrats by the Republicans over the years.

Republicans can't argue with facts. If Democrats can paint the Republicans as the fiscally irresponsible spendthrifts that they are, they can win easily in 2004.

8. Why Not?
It's not their money they're spending; it's yours. Wouldn't you rather be spending your neighbors' paycheck instead of your own?
