Retired Army Gen. Wesley Clark (news - web sites) has the tax bill writers on his side.

Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, plans to endorse the Democratic presidential candidate Friday, according to two Democrats familiar with his plans.

Clark, the newest candidate in the race, has already received the backing of Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., ranking member of the House Ways and Means Committee.

Baucus, who promotes himself as a bipartisan Democrat, believes Clark can reach across party lines and be the best opponent of President Bush (news - web sites), the officials said. They disclosed Baucus' plans on condition of anonymity.

10. I'm disappointed, but

I can see why he chose Clark. Clark fits with Montana and he'd be a good President. Baucus has been in politics for a very long time and can probably be helpful to Clark in alot of behind the scenes ways. And he's superb at cutting to the chase on various issues so that might help too. Congratulations Clarkies!
