10. You forgot Scott Petersen
with a side of Ben 'n JLo. All together, they make a poor substitute for OJ. Oh, and let's garnish with Elizabeth Smart. Whatever happened to Jon Benet? Betcha they'll be trotting that case out of mothballs before too long.

<sarcasm on>

4. Are you sure you are looking at the response in a correct way?
When I look at the results, they say
Serious Politics - 19%
A publicity stunt - 81%

Is it just something with my browser?

6. Actually, one could take this two ways...
it is a publicity stunt by the republicans, which means the vote is against what the republicans are doing and, I am gonna take it that way!

9. Unfortunately, a lot of idiots think the DEMs started the 'filibuster'.
Edited on Thu Nov-13-03 12:05 PM by karlschneider
:grr:

I think that is why the "stunt" choice is getting so many votes.

Edit: Oops, sorry Lucifer, nothing personal!

11. It's one thing to filibuster...
...which either side can do, for better or worse. What these gimp rightwing turdburgers are doing now, is nothing more than bitching and belly-aching cuz they didn't get their 4 Nazi judges, even though 127 others WERE approved. If they don't get IT ALL, they cry foul. It was ok to derail 90% of Clinton's stuff, but if you have an "R" after your name, then by Gawd, you am be better do it.

12. Here's what I got yesterday from MoveOn.org:
"MoveOn member,

For months, Senate Democrats have been heroically holding out against
President Bush's nominations of extremist judges to America's most
powerful courts. We've supported these Senators in this fight. Now
the right wing is trying to break our resolve.

Despite the fact that the Senate has confirmed 168 of his nominees, the
right wing is hopping mad that we've blocked just 4 of the most hard-
core ideologues. We've insisted that only moderates be confirmed for
these lifetime appointments to positions of incredible power over our
lives. They're refusing this reasonable compromise.

Republicans have scheduled 30 hours of debate in the Senate on this
issue, beginning TONIGHT. They're hoping that our friends there, who
have courageously supported filibusters* blocking the most extreme
nominees, will fold under this pressure."

Confirmed 168, but blocked 4 RW ideologue ASSHOLES??

I'm getting into this discussion on another venue, but I don't have the Gingrich/Helms info ready at hand. Can someone point me in the right direction? (Likewise, I believe Eisenhower, Nixon, and Reagan were all given mucho "consideration").
