How he got elected puzzles me.

I hate 'em all, especially that useless mouthpiece Kay Bailey Hutchinson and Hatch.

But Rick Sanctorum is the worst on this particular list.

Now, in a similar poll about the House of Representatives, who here doesn't think Tom DeLay wins it in a cakewalk?

And I don't think Frist will be in there for too long. His doctor hype is wearing off and people are begininng to see what an ass he is. Plus I think some Republicans are starting to think that he's a lot less effective compared to Lott.

31. My Santorum story
I had the unique opportunity to drag Rick Santorum's name through the Washington Post to get some free publicity for for my independent film. It all happened on September 10th, 2002. My lead actress was in a cab on her way to a 9/11 memorial somewhere on or near the National Mall. This big gold SUV comes cruising by as she is opening her door and scrapes it. The driver puts down his cellphone and looks upset. The irate driver is Rick Santorum. My actress tells me about this incident and we decide to string him along for a while. His office tries calling her to get her to pay for the damages. They called her while we were all at the wedding of another one of my actors and she got a little nasty with them. A couple weeks later, right during the first week of the DC Sniper spree, we called up Lloyd Grove at the Post and told him the whole story, putting my film in both the Post and teh Citypaper in the same week, and seriously annoying one of the biggest asshats in the Senate in the process! I have a scan of the Post clip at http://www.WashingtonInternsGoneBad.com and I've been using Santorum's quotes from the article in my promotional materials. Thanks, Rick!

87. Thank you
Thankyouverymuch. I think that given the opportunity to nail that guy in the Post even if there was no opportunity for publicity for myself, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. One of our cast members thought that we shouldn't have done it, and my wife was a bit freaked out about it too because she always considers me a troublemaker and says I take things too far (don't get me started on the time Metallica threatened to sue me for using their font on a political t-shirt).

. . even though the others are all despicable people, Hatch, to me, shows a very special, Republican set of qualities.

The others just don't capture the same depth of meanness, self-righteousness and pettiness in their speech and body language as whorin' Orrin.

I know it's a subjective thing but that's just the way it is for me.

Thru most of the 90's it was Paul Coverdell...who helped organized the filibuster against a compromise on healthcare reform. Coverdell who ran as a conservative, and voted to raise spending and increase taxes for future generations. The other was Phil Gramm...the whore of the DINO's and the poster-girl of the lobbyists. The only services he provided to his country included retiring from politics in 2002, and switching parties in 1983!

And then, when we were finally rid of ole PhilGramm..here comes Saxby!!! Will it ever end???

He dragged it out at about 2:00 in the morning; the heading read "MOST JOBS EVER" or something equally stupid.

Well duhhhh, Senator Dipshit. Of course there are more jobs; there are more PEOPLE. It's the rate of employment that counts, not the raw numbers

You could also make the case that crime has gone up under Bush if you use Santorum's moronic rationale.

47. What an awful crew! For sheer corporate criminality, I'll pick Frist...
http://www.laweekly.com/ink/03/08/news-ireland.php
Frist was born rich, and got richer — thanks to massive criminal fraud by the family business. The basis of the Frist family fortune is HCA Inc. (Hospital Corporation of America), the largest for-profit hospital chain in the country, which was founded by Frist’s father and brother. And, just as Karl Rove was engineering the scuttling of Trent Lott and the elevation of Frist, the Bush Justice Department suddenly ended a near-decadelong federal investigation into how HCA for years had defrauded Medicaid, Medicare and Tricare (the federal program that covers the military and their families), giving the greedy health-care behemoth’s executives a sweetheart settlement that kept them out of the can.
<snip>
The senator has always claimed no current connection to HCA because the $26 million he and his wife hold in the company’s stock is in a so-called "blind trust." But it was the family’s dirty money that bought Frist a place in the Senate. In 1994, Frist — who’d never bothered to vote before first running for the Senate that year — spent some $3.4 million of his personal fortune to buy the seat from Tennessee (HCA’s headquarters) that he now occupies. Moreover, "In the Senate, Frist has used his influence to further HCA’s cause by stopping a strong patients’ bill of rights, gridlocking a mandatory Medicare prescription-drug benefit, and promoting caps on damages for victims who sue negligent hospitals like HCA’s," points out Jamie Court, executive director of the Santa Monica–based Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights, who adds, "The Senate should not replace a racist with a principal backer of one of the largest corporate swindles ever perpetrated against the American public. If Frist was a patriot first, he would have sold his HCA stock long ago."

58. I actually like Bob Dole...
1) Newt Gingrich criticized him for not going along with his "neo-conservative" agenda. Anybody who pisses off Newt Gingrich deserves some credit.

2) He doesn't get all pissed off when people make fun of him (he's very easy to make fun of).

3) He never really became a spokesman for the GOP after he retired (to my knowledge that is).

4) On the other hand, I can't say much about the guy's choice of spouse.

49. i gotta go with my homey Stormin' Norman Coleman.
although he has not been in Washington long enough to compile the record of hatefulness that Hatch and Santorum have, norman will catch up soon if given the chance.
he has no core beliefs other than "what's in it for me?" he is slime. he was a solemn dem for years but his ambition got the best of him....the line ahead of him was shorter in the GOP than it was in the DFL. Presto, the pro-choice, Clinton-loving norm is a BIG fan of Dubya.
But! he's not a spineless yes-man. On drilling in Alaska, "I'll say 'Mr. President, you're wrong!" (true story; he said this while campaigning against Wellstone). Oh, but now he's changed his mind. And he opposed vouchers! at least while campaigning. now he's keen on the voucher plan for D.C.
Take heart. He's a smooth talker.....but he's so dumb he will sink into one scandal or another, count on it. betting in Minnesota right now is on a sex scandal because he thinks he's just soooo fuggin' sexy the women can't keep their hands off him.

He was all for opening trade with Cuba during the election because the farmers would like to open that trade venue. He took a one weekend trip there (at the behest of the WH, natch) and came away saying, Cuba bad, travel ban good. The original waffle boy. And you are so right, 'Fats, he IS so dumb. Trouble will find him soon enough - I think he will be lucky to last his term.

52. I've got to go with Orrin Hatch
Though they're all terrible. I'd also have to add Graham, Allard, Gregg, and Cornyn on the list of the worst.

53. I go with RICHARD LUGAR
why? because he is so smarmy, flying under the radar as he votes straight down the line with Bushco and PNAC, but sings a siren's song on the Sunday news programs mesmerizing DUers and others into somehow thinking he's some thoughtful and questioning republican who is about to come over. Fat chance. McCain and Hagel are his triplets, separated from him at birth, but voting down the line with him and Bushco.

59. I gotta go with Frist, smearer in chief
Santorum is a close second, but I gotta feel sorry for him because of his strange sexual proclivities / fantasies.

Frist is the chief of the SS while Santorum is just a kinda obersturmbannfuhrer.

Edited on Fri Nov-14-03 01:00 AM by neebob
because there was no choice for Ben Nighthorse Campbell. Of course it depends on what you mean by "bad." If you mean insane and scary bad rather than party-switching, do-nothing-and-tell-your-constituents-to-buzz-off bad, then Boring Snatch wins over the Frighthorse.

Fucking lists. Inhofe is by far and away the most evil man in America without Bush as his last name. I can't believe more DUers aren't aware of this black hearted sack of dog shit. Wake up!

He ought to join with his wise colleague Senator Hatch in an effort to "blow up" the computers of file sharers. </sarcasm>

76. There is a special place in hell for Santorum and Coleman
For Santorum, because the look on his face when he realizes that he will spend an eternity in hell for his intolerance and hate speech will just be priceless. That guy is an asshole.

And Norm Coleman, I especially hate. He is a smug, arrogant son of a bitch who wrongfully has Paul Wellstone's job. The worst part is, he knows it. Hell, he might have been involved in the "accident".

The most dissssssssspicable one of the entire lot.

However, this is the email I sent to Sanatrorium:

"Sir, in watching your antics and theater during the FAILED talkathon put on by those of you who are supposed to be doing the business of the country, I find you to not only be the most repugnant person I have ever viewed in Politics, I find you to be a devious and deceitful human being. Your moral outrage is misplaced, and you soil not only the Constitution, you soil the memory of the great politicians who have preceeded you in the sacred chamber that is known as the Senate.

You don't deserve to serve the people. The American people are your employers, and I can only hope they dismiss you in the next election. You deserve nothing less."
