3. 42% think things
are going well in Iraq, who ARE these people? These numbers suck and they WILL get worse as the country realizes the economic numbers were seriously cooked. Notice the headlines almost always try to play up any poll numbers that aren't horrible. "Fair and balanced" media my skinny white ass!

4. Three action items for the Democrats' agenda:
1. Make sure bushbaby's popularity contiues on a downward spiral.

2. Convert the negative impressions of the bush maladministration into votes for the Dem candidates.

3. Make sure that the votes are counted accurately and honestly.

Big items.
Transcendent importance.
We can do it.

5. The second number is the telling one - Bush favors the rich
63%. That may be the number that can do him in - barring Diebold's assistance at the voting booth, that is.

8. But a lot of wing nuts think they will be rich someday
One reasson poor white right wingers don't care that the Bush supports the rich is because of a misguided idea that they will be rich someday if they believe in and stick to conservative dogma.

They will go down kissing Bush's ass and believing his lies even though he is shitting all over them. All you have to do is go over to freeperville to find a bunch of them.

10. I think that's true to an extent
It's funny and kind of sad. I have a cousin who is a total Repuke. He loves Bush and everything he stands for.

Also, he is unemployed for the first time in more than a decade.

Doesn't see the connection.

9. Numbers
While encouraging, they are not where they should be. I hope to see a more steady decline from here. However, the lower they go, the more danger we are in from this vile gang committing some outrage to get them turned around.

11. So Chef, we're damned if we do, damned if we don't?
If his numbers are good, that's bad.

If his numbers are bad, that's bad too.

15. Damned
Yep. We've been damned ever since this regime took power and the only way to lift the curse is their removal. It will take many years to fix the mess and we can only hope that whatever they do will backfire. Sometimes things have to get so bad that no one can buff the turd to a shine.

12. True...
I'm a New England pessimist, and Poppa Bush had a lot lower numbers around this time in 1991 and still lost a fairly close election to Clinton. Heck, even Ray-gun trailed Mondale briefly - and we all know how that turned out.

14. Haha. No.
Bush Sr.'s approval rating was at 66% at this point.

Clinton trailed him until July of 1992. Clinton won the election by 6%. If Perot weren't in the race, he would have won by 10% to 12%.

16. no matter what his numbers are
there are going to be at least 40-45% of the people backing him 100%. When the term "culture war" is used to describe what is going on in America today, that's correct. There will always be those who will rally behind a conservative in the hope that we can return to 1950, no matter what he does, no matter what we do.
