Has your opinion on 9/11 "conspiracy theories" changed recently? |
|
What with the Bush Administration continuously stonewalling the investigation and all. In case you don't know, just this week the Admin. "cut a deal" with the "investigative panel" that allows only two people on the panel to see many documents, and that is even after the Bush Administration gets to edit the documents to remove whatever they want! Also, earlier this week the panel had to subpeona NORAD (which is responsible for scrambling jets to intercept hijacked planes) to find out WHY such jets were not scrambled on 9/11. The action of a subpeona was necessary because NORAD also has refused to give up relevant documents.
So what is the Admin trying to hide?
Gross negligence?
Or something far, far worse?

I was an avid LIHOP believer at first, but now I am beginning to think there may have even been some MIHOP involved, especially when it comes to the NORAD part.
If it was LIHOP or MIHOP, how could it not come out? This is huge...3,000 people died as the result of it. This isn't like the Kennedy assassination where there would really be nothing to gain from uncovering a vast conspiracy. In this case, it MUST be uncovered because it is so horrific.

8. Agree. All one has to do is look at who benefitted from 9/11, |
|
and then factor in the subsequent stonewalling by the bush junta to confirm suspicions as to who was behind it.

It really does a good job of covering the anti-conspiracy theories argument. In the name of money, anything is possible.

6. It's obviousl y worse than gross negligence. |
|
The video of George W. Bush sitting on his butt reading a story about a pet goat on September 11 says it all. He didn't even LOOK concerned.
On top of that, there's no excuse for the military's inaction. And how do you explain all the Jessica-Lynch-like stories - like the terrorist passport that was quickly plucked out of the rubble, or the terrorists who went out bar hopping the night before and left ID behind?
In addition, the White House was obviously ready to exploit the carnage. From scrapping the national budget surplus (or did they do that BEFORE 9/11?) to ramming the Patriot Act through to attacking Afghanistan, they hit the ground running - like pigs to the trough.

It is just so obvious it seems like it has to "come out" in the media. Are they so far in the pockets of corporate interests that they won't report on what may be the greatest crime against the American people in modern times?

Yesterday I was watching Max Cleeland on CNN practically spelling out LIHOP, and all I could do was scream at the tv because it was so fucking obvious but so few people get it. It was encouraging, however, to see that Wolf Blitzer is starting to get it. He was asking all sorts of leading questions that pointed to LIHOP.

NEVER
be officially acknowledged,
because such an admission, it will be reasoned, "could finish the republic."
The same reasoning used to cover-up the multitude of high crimes committed by the National Security State. The very reasoning which has finished the republic, and brought America so low.

Seriously, I can kind of understand the reasoning that a true 9/11 LIHOP/MIHOP conspiracy could never be publicly acknowledged because it would lead to some sort of anarchy. Think about the implications of it. Already, people don't trust the government, but if 9/11 complicity were to become well known the gov't would have NO CREDIBILITY. People wouldn't even know what to do. Revolt? Elect a new guy, but keep in place everything that let the last one do such horrible things?

getting away with high crimes, because the truth is thought too dangerous to expose. So the circle of those involved in cover-ups widens far beyond perpetrators, to take in all who have a stake in perpetuating the status quo, including misguided patriots who believe preserving the myths most Americans live by outweighs justice, and purging the system.
At some point, either the cognitive dissonance will become so unbearable that even the truth will be preferred, or America will simply go mad.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not really out to get you.
If these dirtbags didn't have something pretty heinous to hide, they wouldn't be. From the moment I saw it happening, I felt at the very least, they allowed it to occur.
Then, when you add in the Bin Laden family thing, the Saudi thing, the not scrambling jets 5 minutes away from an no-fly zone thing, the PNAC thing, the halting of government officials flying commerical airliners thing, and so on.....
It is not a HUGE jump to think that these guys are up to their asses in the whole affair, I don't think it is a conspiracy theory of the nutjob variety to assume that these guys are covering up something pretty bad.

16. Made It Happen - have thought so from the very beginning |
|
The US govt is the only power that could have made it happen - the stand-down order had to have come from Meyers/Rummy.
Also, from the time I watched the towers come down, I knew it was a controlled demolition. And I will go as far as to say that I think Guiliani was in on it, too.

18. re: controlled demolition |
|
I have talked to a number of architects and engineers that I happen to know, and just based on what they knew about about the twin towers and 9/11, they all seemed to believe it was plausible that the towers could have collapsed from the burning fuel weakening the steel reinforcements.
Having said that, it is awfully bizarre that the cleanup company (Controlled Demolition, if memory serves me right) was on the site cleaning up almost immediately, before any kind of real investigation could be done. Its also worth noting that it is the same company that cleaned up the Oklahoma City Federal Building bombing.

17. Let me ask you guys something. |
|
First off, NO, my opinion on 9/11 conspiracy theories hasn't changed. What I wanted to ask is this: A while back on NOW with Bill Moyers there was a segment about the four 9/11 widows who are bringing pressure to bear on the White House and the independent commission. Bill Moyers said at one point that the FBI had descended on the FAA and seized all documents, recordings and logs for 9/11. Has anyone else heard anything about this? That was the first and last time I heard that. Could Bill have been misinformed? If he is not misinformed then that is HUGE in my opinion. Especially since the commission is talking about issueing subpoenas for documents and info and the FAA is, of course, on the commissions list. If Moyers in correct then why won't the FAA simply say 'Hey, the FBI has what you want from us'??

20. Nope, I thought from the beginning that Cheney and Co. did this |
|
and I still do. I am on record at the office as saying our government did this moments after the second building was hit.
There are or were, I hope they are archived somewhere, some absolutely fantastic discussions in what was called the 9-11 thread. There was a man,I believe his name was Sterling, who supplied absolutely amazing information. I believe he was cut loose for some reason or other, but his work on 9-11 was tireless and unbelievably good.
