Question regarding campaign financing |
|
Ok, so Dean isn't taking the matching funds and Clark is. My question is, if Clark is the nominee and he chooses Dean as his running mate, what happens?
Do they pool resources? Clark gets the public money and Dean's grassroots fundraising goes to the campaign as well?
How does this work?

is the key from what I understand. I could be very wrong on that. Much smarter people than I will have to answer your question.

Campaing funds can be transfered from one campaign to another. If Clark is at the top of the ticket with Dean as VP and they want Dean's cash, they'd have to opt out of public financing and return any public funds they've reveived to that point.
