On elevating a queer bishop |

PAT PATTERSON TO DALLAS MORNING NEWS - "The actions taken by the New Hampshire Episcopalians are an affront to Christians everywhere. I am just thankful that the church's founder, Henry VIII, and his wife Catherine of Aragon, and his wife Anne Boleyn, and his wife Jane Seymour, and his wife Anne of Cleves, and his wife Katherine Howard, and his wife Catherine Parr are no longer here to suffer through this assault on traditional Christian marriage."

Form your own church. If that doesn't work, lob the bitch's head off.

Anne of Cleves would have been the most offended of all. She was really devout.

What diocese is he from? And, if he doesn't belong to one, he probably ought not to have a say in the matter, don'tcha think?
On edit: nothing like digging up events from 450 years ago to slam a group, eh?

10. I agree, look to the present! |
|
Or the near future, when Prince Charles will be head of the Church of England. His divorce doesn't matter now, since Diana has conveniently left the planet. His continuing relationship with a divorced woman certainly has historical precedent--as long as he doesn't attempt to marry her. And who cares what the butler saw?
Lots of non-Catholics & non-Southern Baptists seem to think they should have a say about doings in those denominations. Should the Anglicans be exempt?

the leader of the Anglican church, outside a token figurehead position anyway. The person at the helm is the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams.
And, is the Anglican church the only one to accept divorced members? I don't think so. And so, why are you singling them out for criticism?
