Somber reflections at 414 dead? |
|
Soldiers continue to die on a daily basis and the number is now up around 400. If I remember correctly, 138 soldiers were killed prior to May 1st. It's a sad thing to contemplate, but it seems as if the number of dead soldiers will reach 414 at some point. 414 is the sum of 138+276. 276 is double the number killed since Bush stood before his Mission Accomplished sign. I wonder if the media and nation will take the time to reflect on exactly why Iraq was invaded on the sad day when twice as many U.S soldiers have died AFTER "mission accomplished?"

2. I'm afraid it will hit 414 within a couple of weeks. Probably none of the |

corporate media will make the connection. It's now either 400 or 402, have heard both figures this evening. Personally, I find sufficient evidence to indict Bush for 400/402 counts of negligent homicide at least, the same number for war crimes.

3. Not to mention all the dead Iraqis |
|
I could care less about the fanatical Hussein supporters who died (they deserved it, IMO) but it breaks my heart to think about all the poor Iraqi regulars and civilians who were forced into the war zone. We'll never know how many died thanks to Bush's oil-driven war machine. And this is the same asshole who claims to be pro-life. :eyes:

4. War is a political winner. |
|
56,000 died in Vietnam and it was a gigantic political winner. As witnessed by Nixon in 72. Sure, it destroyed Johnson, because he ended up being torutured by those body bags.
Bush's mistake now, politically, is the apparant move to get the hell out. War is a politcal winner. Why don't they get it. They played the card after all. I thought they knew it better than anyone.
