LONDON, Nov. 17 — Armed police turned the British capital into “Fortress London” on Monday amid heightened fears of a guerrilla attack on the eve of President Bush’s visit. The White House, wary of an al-Qaida strike, has insisted on tight precautions. Traditional events such as a horsedrawn carriage ride with Queen Elizabeth will not be staged.

BRITAIN MOVED to a higher state of alert after warnings of a possible al-Qaida attack received days ago.

But the tight security did not stop a lone woman protester scaling the gates of Queen Elizabeth’s Buckingham Palace where Bush will stay and unfurling an upside down U.S. flag on Monday with the inscription “Elizabeth Windsor and Co. He’s not welcome.”

Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister Tony Blair, Bush’s staunchest ally in his “war on terror,” insisted Britain would not waiver in its commitment to defeating terrorism.

6. The whore press in this country

will spin the "heightened security" angle to explain away the lack of outward ceremony
attending the chimp's visit. The protesters will be mentioned as being in the "dozens" and, of course, kept away
for the same "tightened security" reasons.

Will be very interesting to read accounts of the visit in the Guardian as opposed to the predictable reports of the whores here at home. FAUX's coverage should be especially entertaining. Will probably use old footage of the chimp waving at Stevie Wonder and intersplice friendly crowd scenes from one of Clinton's visits.
