"The Running Man"
It's no big surprise I draw parallels and inspiration from some odd places. Tonight, in honor of Gov Schwarzenegger getting sworn in I decided to watch "The Running Man". Coincidently Jesse Venture is in this one.

Anyway, as I was watching a world where the Gov't controlled the media, with the Dept of Justice having a Secretary of Entertainment, I found Killian's last few lines quite interesting. "American's LOVE TV! For 50 years we've been telling them what to eat, what to drink, what to wear...Hell, they wean their kids on it!" Combined with the Cadre ad about "Remember...seeing is believing." and the manipulation of what people "saw" that was going on, it does make the ole brain churn.

1. Astute observation
Yes it's somewhere between that movie and The Truman show.
