Did JFK have speech writers? Or was he the last Prez to write his own? |
I'm watching MSNBC on JFK and the quality and the content of the speeches are so much more than what we've gotten for a while. Was it because he wrote his own speeches?

6. Kennedy even had book writers. |
It was common knowledge even when he was among the living that Sorensen was more or less a coauthor of Profiles in Courage, so extensive were the revisions he made in order to get a publishable book out of Kennedy's senior thesis.

7. JFK was pretty good with off-the-cuff remarks. |
Did I just read here today that when JFK was campaigning in Iowa if he was rooting for Iowa or ND in a big game, he said "I'm rooting for IA, but I'm praying for ND," or something like that. For a C student, he was pretty smart when he applied himself. Same with FDR.
