Some churches are in-freeping-sane...
I was going to Montreal with to help a friend of my parents -- who's a conservative Baptist -- buy the right parts for her new computer.

She told me about a non-denominational church that she tried to attend for 1 week when she was in London, ON.

She told me that in order to even be allowed to attend a service at that church, she had to agree with a booklet discussing complex theological issues she (and virtually any Christian) knows nothing about. (Crap like dispensationalism and post-millennalism, to name just a few)

Now most religious organisations require their members to agree to certain beliefs, but I hardly see how forcing people to take a position on complex theological issues (as opposed to simple issues of morality and Biblical interpretation) is relevant to the eseence of Christianity.
