Chasing Bush - Brits keeping track of his every move!
http://www.interwebnet.org/

Welcome to Chasing Bush - the very first project of the passive resistance network, interwebnet.org

This a special online diary, designed to track George W. Bush for the duration of his visit to the UK. This information portal will be manned (and moderated) around the clock throughout the visit.

We'll be accepting intelligence reports and images from volunteers and the public on the ground, then publishing them here for all to see on a post-and-update basis.

====

I've just received word of a lead story in The Daily Mail tomorrow. The exclusion zones (which are now mobile and therefore harmless bubbles) will now involve mobile phone blackouts.

UPDATE - Thanks to dishbench for this Times article:
Security chiefs are even considering shutting down all mobile phone signals near the President every time he leaves Buckingham Palace in case terrorists try to use a mobile to detonate a bomb.

We've been quite overt about our intentions on this matter; it's a pity the government cannot do the same.

1. The little prick will be sneaking around, that's for sure
trying to avoid protesters and changing routes and looking for uncluttered photo ops.

The little bastard.

5. I'm loving it! Can't wait until it heats up!
Village divided on Bush visit

The owner of the house, 57-year-old psychologist Peter Cook, said he refused to allow police officers into his home yesterday to inspect it ahead of Friday’s event, as his own form of protest.

He said: “I do find that the things that I believe in are absolutely incompatible with this visit. I think it is terrible for us.

“I also object to the way they are treating this as some sort of rural backwater when it’s not. I would hate to think that crime in other parts of Durham goes on the rampage because of the resources poured into this.”

7. A sample of Chasing Bush
(Thanks Tinoire for posting the URL)

Event Itinerary
WEDNESDAY 19 NOV

AM:
Ceremonial (and no doubt quite sincere) welcome by the Queen at Buckingham Palace (map).
Bush to tour royal collection and nod politely during bits he doesn't understand.
Brief meetings with leaders of the Conservative and the Liberal Democrat parties (give him hell, Charles!).

PM:
A speech by the President at Banqueting House, Whitehall Palace (map), on the transatlantic alliance and his ever-forward, never backwards and always twirling, twirling, twirling strategy.
Visit to memorial to British victims of September 11th in Grosvenor Square Garden (map).

Meeting with families of victims of September 11.
Mysterious delay due to general terror alert that's nothing to do with this visit.

Safe return for State banquet at Buckingham Palace (map).

Suspected:
Surprise address to the Houses of Parliament (map), but probably not in a debating chamber. Most likely The Royal Gallery. If it were in The Mediaeval Hall, they'd be able to hear you from the street.
