Congressman Wu Endorses Dean for America
WASHINGTON--Oregon Congressman David Wu yesterday endorsed Governor Dean. In making the endorsement, Wu, who represents Oregon's First District, cited Governor Dean's strong record on health care and his dedication to improving educational opportunities and access for all Americans.

"Congressman Wu has been a faithful representative of the people of Oregon, and his inspirational story reminds us why America's must always be the land of opportunity," Governor Dean said. "I look forward to working with him on issues like education and health care that are important to the people of his district and all Americans."

Congressman Wu, who is in his third term, is the first and only Chinese-American to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves as chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, as well as a member of the New Democrat Coalition (NDC), a group of moderate Democrats in the House.

Oregon's First District stretches from Portland to the Oregon Coast, encompassing all of Washington, Yamhill, Columbia, and Clatsop counties, and part of Multnomah County.
