1. I read one on the link and it's not great for us.... |
|
If the press grabs onto this it could look ugly. They have a memo from a Durbin staffer that says Bush's nominees are "Nazi's".
It also talks about deliberately delaying judge approvals to affect the outcome of certain cases.
This could be nasty.

8. The "certain case" they were waiting for... |
|
Was the U of M case, and the NAACP was requesting that Dems hold up on nominees to the 6th circuit until that case was heard. They didn't want Bush to pack the court with people who were hostile to that particular case.
Nefarious? Or does it make sense?
(Of course we're presuming these memos are accurate.)

10. Memos also concede Estrada was well qualified, but a threat ... |
|
... because he was perhaps being groomed for the Supreme Court. The conservatives have been arguing that all along. This tends to confirm the charge.

12. The Democrats said that extremism was a problem in the sleep over. |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-18-03 05:19 PM by AP
They said that qualifications was a problem only for one, and that extremism was definitely a problem for all of them, including the unqualified judge. They said they were especially suspicious of Estrada's extremism because he wouldn't give straight answers in his hearing.

2. what I am very concerned about |
|
is that memos are being leaked left and right. Fox News, the Intelligence Committee Memo, Wilson's wife, Sen. Rockerfeller's memo. Geez, what the hell is going on.
