Tell me what you think. :) Dear Bill:
On the November 18, 2003 Talking Points (“Return of the Truth Police”) you said that all economic indicators are up. This seems a bit deceiving to me. Unemployment is still at 6%. Let’s compare this to June, when it was at 6.4%. The employment-to-population ratio is still about the same, and in fact a bit lower. It’s 62.2% now; it was 62.3% then. (Source: United States Congress Economic Indicators: http://www.access.gpo.gov/congress/eibrowse/03octbro.html) Thus, the only reason unemployment went down is because many people stopped trying to get work. And at any rate, 6% is still bad, and if we had a Democratic President right now, you’d be mentioning that figure every night on your Constant Spin Zone.
The only economic indicator that looks good is the overall growth in the GDP. But this is being driven by the combination of huge government spending and low taxes, which together are giving us the largest deficit in history. We can ALWAYS get our economy to grow like this if we borrow this much money. But is that a good thing? If so, why don’t we just borrow an infinite amount of money, so our economy will grow infinitely? The truth is, the economy still sucks, and you know it.
I like your idea: a “truth squad.” But who is going to monitor you guys on Fox?

i like that a lot. Some great points in there and excellent delivery. Constant Spin Zone - hot. Why don't we borrow an infinite amount of money - brilliant. Of course, O'Lielly probably thought that was a good idea.

Who is going to minitor them, indeed?
I think it's important that O'Reilly gets mail that contradicts his spin and doesn't believe enrything out of his foul mouth.

for the thousands of e-mails and letters received for the o'reilly factor, a staff is hired and dedicated solely to select a few and make o'reilly look good. even the negative views are selected for the purpose of giving the allusion of "fair and balanced" i want to puke all over o'reilly's face.

Foreclosures are up. Bankruptcies are up. Unemployment is up. Job exports are up. Soup line wait times are up. The Founding Fathers' hands are up.
