An interesting quesiton ( i think)
How come Dean has outspent Clark by 12 millon (at least) and has a name recognition greater than Clark by 12 points (21-9) among Democratic voters according to the latest CBS Poll yet is only polling equal to him in the national polls? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this, because i dont think i have a clear sense to this phenomena.

1. Dean hasn't spent money on national ads, for one thing.
The money he has spent has been concentrated in the early primary states.

2. If you recall...
For weeks and months before Clark officially announced, he was saying that he had not made a decision and at the right time would let everyone know. It's not like he came out of the blue...

6. just heard this today
my boss is at the national congress of american indian conference in albuquerque and when he called in today he said that clark and gephardt have already stopped by to speak at the conference and dean is scheduled tomorrow. clark is the fave so far. dean is not going to be welcomed as warmly due to his vote against indian gaming in vermont.

8. Indian gaming is a tough one.
I'm all for personal freedom but gambling hits those least able to afford it. And Native Americans deserve a break, big time. Tough one. I'd lean freedom of choice, with the cause giving it the edge. :freak:

9. Good question.
Perhaps it's the "General" in front of Clark's name. It would be fun to do a poll and ask people to rate "General Howard Dean."
