I just emailed my Cong. Rep., Senators, FBI, Capitol Hill Police, and SS.
Just when you thought the wing-nuts couldn't get crazier, out comes the following.

Check out this psycho:

http://markbyron.typepad.com/main/2003/11/the_usefulness__1.html

(snip)
Note-I am NOT advocating the following fantasy episode, but it has a following in the darker parts of my mind.

WASHINGTON-January 6, 2004. A paramilitary organization calling itself the Christian Liberation Front changed the balance of power in Washington by a pair of brutal attacks this afternoon. A force estimated at about 200 CLF commandos stormed the Supreme Court building, killing 35 people, including five Supreme Court Justices. At the same time, a contingent of 1,000 CLF paramilitaries attacked the Hart Senate Office Building, where a Senate Democratic Caucus meeting was being held. Approximately 50 people were killed in the attack. Once the commandos had seized the building, they systematically killed Democratic senators from states with Republican governors. Here is a list of the 21 senators killed Daniel Akaka Byron Dorgan Mary Landrieu
John Breaux Bob Graham Blanche Lincoln
Hillary Clinton Ernest Hollings Barbara Mikulski
Kent Conrad Daniel Inouyye David Pryor
Tom Daschle Tim Johnson Harry Reid
Mark Dayton Ted Kennedy Paul Sarbanes
Chris Dodd John Kerry Chuch Schumer

Joe Lieberman was campaigning in South Carolina, and missed the assassins. The attackers turned themselves in to police, and are proudly confessing their crimes, cooperating with authorities.

If the governors appoint Republican replacements, there will be 72 Republicans in the US Senate until replacement elections can be held. Even if a few Democrats are named, there will be likely at least 60 votes to vote for cloture and appoint replacements for the slain Supreme Court justices, changing the balance of power on the court.

OK, I'm ignoring Vermont, where the governor is a RINO, IIRC, and sparing Ben Nelson and Zell Miller as well. I'm also assuming that Bobby Jindal wins Saturday.

I'm also assuming that such bloodshed would be a good idea; I don't think it would. Would five extra conservatives on the Supreme Court and a filibuster-free Senate be worth the bloodshed? It is opposing evil, given some of the less-than-biblical decisions that have emanated from the court.

More specifically, a reliable center fire RIFLE, plenty of ammunition, a parts kit, cleaning kit, and some simple tools. Learn the mechanics of it in and out, practice with it, and it will become a useful tool.

Edit** "When they kick at your front door
How you gonna come
With your hands on your head
Or on the trigger of your gun?"

I'm getting either a Yugoslav M24/47 Mauser or an M44 Nagant carbine tomorrow, as the fancy strikes me. I think if I get the Yugo at a good enough price, it'll win as the ammo is now less than $40 for 500 rounds surplus.

And Bonhoeffer was a theologian, clergyman, and courier for the RESISTANCE, not a paramilitary leader. He ended his days at the end of a hangman's noose.

Biography
My day job is Assistant Professor of Business at Warner Southern College, about an hour south of Orlando in Lake Wales, FL. I primarily teach finance and economics with the occasional management class. Warner is an evangelical college (Church of God-Anderson affilated) which fits in fairly nicely with my "Bapticostal" background. We live in Winter Haven, just north of Lake Wales.

I'm a Michigan native, being born in Saginaw, spending my tothood in Lansing and moving to Midland when I was 5. I got a B.S. in Political Science from Central Michigan University and proceeded to have three depressing years being unsucessful at grad school and job hunting.

At that time, my father found the Lord in the midst of a mid-life crisis, going from aloof intelectual agnostic to Spirit-filled Pentecostal. Raised Methodist, I really hadn't been exposed to a full presentation of the core gospel message that God's perfect, we're not and that Jesus died to bridge that gap.

After coming to the Lord myself in August of 1985, I started to get my life back together. I went back to my local community college to get a AA in data processing. My grade-point went from a 2.8 to a 3.8, as the Holy Spirit allowed me more diligence in my studies (or you could say I was a bit more mature).

The AA in DP turned into a BBA in Accounting and Finance at Saginaw Valley State U., just missing the 3.80 needed for Summa Cum Laude (I "settled" for Magna). Seeing my two key finance professors had Ph.D. from Michigan State and that they weren't any smarter than I was, and having the desire but not the stick-to-it-tiveness to get a doctorate and be a college professor, I set off for grad school.

I bagged a MBA in Finance from Michigan State and went on to get a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Kent State. When I got my doctorate in 1996, the academic job market wasn't all that strong, so I returned to Midland to open up a computer store with my father.

We ran out of working capital and sanity about the same time late in 1998 and closed the store in January 1999. I worked as an accountant in the Midland area for three years thereafter, primarily at Hurley Medical Center in Flint.

In March of 2001, I met the woman who would become my wife at a New Life Vineyard young adult outing that a friend from another single's Bible had invited me to. I found both a chruch that fit my theology and a soulmate. Eileen had come to town to be children's ministry director at the big Presbyterian church in town, but didn't fit in, and was working as an administrative assistant when I met her.

I became smitten with her and attracted to her church, which seem to fit my Bapticostal theology to a T; combining the best of the Pentecostal emphasis on the Holy Spirit as an active part of our lives and the Baptist emphasis on the Bible as the Word of God. Vineyard's "radical middle" between the Baptist and Pentecostal schemes was just my size. I haven't quite fit into either denomination.

So was Eileen. 39 at the time, I had all but given up finding someone who I could share my life with, but I found a fellow tenderhearted intelectual, someone who filled a spot in my soul that had ached for as long as I can remember.

Shortly before we married in July of 2002, I got a job offer to teach at Warner Souther, we moved down here a few days after we were married. We've settled in at church at the Lakeland Vineyard and Eileen is working as a second grade teacher's aide at Janie Howard Wilson Elemenatry School with an eye towards being a teacher in a few months once she gets used to the elementary classroom; she tried 8th grade last year and that wasn't for her.

Just before I got the Warner Souther offer, I found blogs. This blog was launched over on Blogger in January 2002 and moved it to its current locale on Typepad in September, 2003.

48. barely middle class, lost a business
humm, looks frustrated to me. He sounds like he is fighting to stay in the middle class. Note he says his professors "weren't any smarter" than he, and he started a business which failed. He found the job market too tight to get into his chosen field. The college where he started teaching doesn't sound like it is top of the academic heap, and from my experience with Ph.Ds looking for jobs, little fundy colleges like that only get applications from other fundies so the applicant pool isn't that crowded. Any bets he's been looking for someone to blame for his struggles?

47. Michael Moore said that they tend to take this stuff seriously.
In "Downsize This," Moore talked about all the violent threats issued against both the Clintons and Gores during their terms in, respectively, the presidency and vice presidency. He was surprised to learn that when Jesse Helms made his famous ominous comment against Clinton (i.e., that he shouldn't come to North Carolina without protection), the Secret Service took it very, very seriously.

For all that Byron is probably nothing more than a huge, self-pitying, self-indulgent loser who wouldn't know Christianity from the Kama Sutra, I'm still probably going to copy his text and send it to the staffers of all the senators named, and possibly even the Supreme Court. There are enough dangerous nutcases out there already, and a little extra security will do the good senators and justices no harm.

By the way, Byron mentioned BOTH my senators in his little fantasy. Thanks a lot, you infernal little loser.

Also, note his namby-pamby defense of running that little scenario and how he was just writing about civil disobedience. Yeah, if any Christian wrote about, say, marriage and its sanctity, I'm certain he'd start off by writing a pornographic account of adultery to start.

On edit: The guy's writing is also extremely amateurish.

44. I am getting real tired of
liberals being accused of political violence. Show me the proof. We are the ones who climb trees, stand in front of bulldozers and quietly allow ourselves to be hauled off to jail for peacefull protest. We don't kill doctors, or blow up buildings in Oklahoma City, or beat "fags" to death just for the hell of it. These are RW radicals who do this. Last time I looked, there were no RW radicals in the Democratic Party.
I am proud to be a wet-noodle liberal who thinks violence is never justified, except, of course, if we have to protect ourselves from those who really are the violent ones. I am very capable of protecting my family and my self.
