Hah! Dennis Kucinich puts the Diebold Memos on his Web site.
Edited on Wed Nov-19-03 03:09 PM by BevHarris
Working on this with them for four weeks; thanks to the wonderful volunteers on the private "Kucinich Project" forum at http://www.blackboxvoting.org, and to the volunteers at http://www.verifiedvoting.org, because the memos are up!

http://www.house.gov/kucinich/issues/voting.htm

Among the researchers, step in and take a bow if you are one that I missed: RedEagle, JohnGideon, me, for the private forum. At verifiedvoting.org, Greg Dinger, Gristy, Creativelcro, another verifiedvoting.org volunteer and ... who'd I miss?

Thanks, especially, Greg. We kind of stumbled over each other at first, since he and I were approached by two different staff members and overlapped some work. GregD has been absolutely terrific to work with, a totally class act.

Thanks a lot. Apparently the honorable Rep. Kucinich especially liked the Ken Clark "end run" memos.

I wonder: Will Diebold hit Kucinich with a cease & desist?

Bev Harris

Note: When members contribute consistently great reseach, some are invited into private forums, invisible without a password, to work on projects that need to be kept confidential. These have included forums to help investigative reporters gather information, and forums to help public officials gather evidence for projects they are working on. I have now made the private Kucinich research forum public, and you can view it here:

Or to put it another way, why would anybody support anybody or bother to vote. I keep on looking into all the hanky panky and evil things that have been done behind the publics back. Then think to myself a lot of them crooks are stupid, but not that stupid. If they thought they could get away with this stuff they would.

Even if you couldn't believe they were blatantly doing it, from a marketing stand point of how they sell you goods in the supermarket. They could be collaborating so much data on this stuff, that they could do it legally (at least till it’s found out) by just stringing together data on voting trends and setting thing up in different ways. They produce the product that determines the vote, that shouldn’t be that hard to figure out.

On edit: not an attack on anybody (sorry if seemed that way), it just seems I am missing a feeling that some people don't see the ramifications of this on their lives. Politics are personal and effect people in personal ways, and it's just not really noticed by the people it harms that much. The reason being the people doing it have figured out elaborate ways to get people into mode of thinking it does not.

40. I'll work with anyone and like all the candidates (almost)
Edited on Wed Nov-19-03 06:40 PM by BevHarris
Clark did mention concerns with voting informally but we need to bring him up to speed. Dean knows about it but has said he'll do something after the primaries, I'd like to see him do something now. Gephardt has also mentioned, informally, concerns with the machines.

I'll work with any of them, and we can do customized projects behind the scenes that can go public later or not. I was told that Rep. Kucinich invested the time to read the book.

Time's a wastin. Call your candidates and propose that they do something tangible, even if it is just to formalize their statements.

I honestly don't see the House webmaster being cowed by Diebold's empty threats.

As I understand copyright-type laws, if they DON'T contest the distribution of a 'proprietary' piece of information, it stops being proprietary. Is that right? (I know that's how it works with trademarks, etc...).

THat is why he is my candidate. He is the one who will fight against the establishment. No other candidate, Republican or Democrat, will do it. Now you have the evidence of it. I call on Dean, Kerry and Clark supporters to submerge your egos and give your support to the only candidate who will FIGHT THE POWER!

55. Here are Rep. Kucinich's web page Diebold Memo picks
"From conversations between employees at Diebold, including upper management, it is evident that they knew of insecure programs and made insecure changes to programs. Among these activities, employees:"

-Permitted easy access to vote audit logs. Without requiring so much as a password, anyone could access the tabulation of votes and change the contents. (Memo from Nel Finberg to Ken Clark, and Ken Clark response)

-Sold uncertified software (that was used in elections, while knowing that numerous problems existed with the software. (Memo from Ken Clark)

-Changed voting software by sending uncertified patches and upgrades to customers, along with possible bugs (memo Ken Clark, re: GEMS versions, 6/5/2000)

-Contracted to “provide products and services which do not exist and then attempting to build these items on an unreasonable timetable with no written plan, little to no time for testing, and minimal resources. It also seems to be an accepted practice to exaggerate our progress and functionality to our customers and ourselves then make excuses at delivery time when these products and services do not meet expectations.” (according to an employee upon resignation)

60. Bev & Dennis:"A working class hero is something to be..."
I made up my mind for Dennis after he proposed the Ben Franklin TRUE PATRIOT ACT bill that opposes the Patriot Act before Congress. He is the ONLY man who has stood up to the monsters that be and works fruitfully to defend us and our country. A vegan and a Libra to boot. If Dennis weren't a vegan, I would be more leery of his past pro-life status, but Dennis IS pro-life in regards to the most important issue of our day and that is to STOP the massacre and invasion of people of the Middle East.

Libra men are awesome when irked, think Oscar Wilde and Gore Vidal and Dennis Kucinich, not to mention my soul cousin John Lennon! You are too cool Dennis I hope to meet you in Culver City on Sunday. I met Ralph Nader in 2000, my other living hero, he and I share the same birthday.

Unless the American people can be assured of an un-rigged giveaway of the Presidency and the accompanying government no one should vote. Everyone must hammer on their local government chumps for validated voting with paper back up.
