anyone keeping an eye on Bush's backdrops?

I had to laugh when I saw this one. It's emblazoned with "United Kingdom", as if to say, "See, I really AM in a different country, not one of Karl's stage sets"

Wonder if he brought this one with him from the States? Here's the background on those pricey backdrops ... apparently the White House will make them for institutions like universities (which have their own printing facilities) just to ensure they are "presidential" enough.

2. I noticed it, but I thought, as UNITED was capped
and in larger type, it was to stress the bond between the UNITED Kingdom and the UNITED States. And perhaps, on another level, assert that George himself was king of all.

3. UK is a province of the US.
Not really, but I was notcing on TV there was some street that was lined with UK and US flags alternating.

In my mind I could imagine something similar with a US and some random state flag.

7. The actual caption...
U.S. President George W. Bush gives his keynote address at London's Banqueting House on the first day of his state visit to Britain, Wednesday Nov. 19, 2003. Bush said on Wednesday that war was a justifiable tool to ward off aggression and that the United Nations must be willing to enforce its demands to remain relevant.(AP Photo/Russell Boyce, pool)

So - anyone know who the hand-picked, sure-to-be-well-behaved audience was here at the palace mess hall dining room prestigious Banqueting House*?

* Forgive my ignorance of British institutions.
