How dishonest is the Republican Party ?...
I am not necessarily referring to the average Repub voter, although some may fit into this niche also. I am mostly talking about Republican leadership. Perhaps it is just my perception but I don't think so?

But it seems to me that on just about every issue of importance to this country, from healthcare, jobs, unemployment, defense, education, taxes, you name it, they are not honest in their defense of their opposition or support, and they seem to have perfected a disingenuousness that is acceptable to their flock of voters.

For example, they might say that we can't have healthcare because it is "socialistic". However, they have no problem with socialistic medicine in the military, or for that matter, in Iraq. But they are not honest, it seems to me, in their opposition.

With the smallest uptick in employment, they talk it up as if it is the greatest "recovery" in the history of this nation. Remember when deficits were so bad back in the 70's and 80's? They don't seem to matter now. And it's worth noting that we never had deficits of this magnitude under Democrats.

When they talk about education, they think privatization is the solution to everything wrong with the public schools. They never give credit to the good schools. They are simply dishonest. The same goes for their explanation for taxcuts. The unemployment rate, although almost 2% higher than when they took office, is still low by historical standards, they say. So it's not really a problem. Unless you're unemployed, of course.

I know that the Democratic Party is not totally honest on some issues also. They play for the vote with their election year minimum wage debate, etc. But overall, it seems the Repubs are more dishonest about more issues than the Democratic Party. It seems to me that they must be dishonest out of necessity, otherwise if their voters knew the truth, they may not vote for them.

But they (the leadership)have perfected their message to the average Repub voter and have not hesitated to use division to further their agenda, much moreso than the Democrats. Distortion, dishonesty, and disinformation are tools of the present day Republican Party and they use them very well.

5. They are so dishonest
They have so completely pulled the wool over their flocks' eyes that even the most honest republicans can not see how their party and principles have been usurped.
