Poll question: General Aviation: Threat to Nat Security or not? |
|
OK,
With recent evacuations of the White House due to small aircraft wandering into the Washington DC ADIZ (Air Defense Identification Zone), do you think that General Aviation (things like single engine Cessnas and such) pose a threat to national security?
Should more restrictions be placed on:
1) Requiring all flights, even local flight pattern work, file a flight plan? 2) Increasing the number and size of TFRs (Temp Flight Restricitions) and ADIZs around the nation? 3) Requiring background checks for GA pilots and student pilots?
Other?
As a private pilot, my life is constantly under scrutiny by the FAA and the TSA. I feel that my lifestyle as a pilot is being threatened by unfounded fears and general aviation, as we know, might forever be changed for the worse.

if you think GA is a major threat, tell us why you think that and what measures you feel would be appropriate to mitigte that threat.
